ESPN.com is reporting that the NFL has reinstated Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon but must serve a four-game suspension before he can play in 2016. Gordon's reinstatement is conditional but he can participate in off-season activities and preseason.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sent a letter to Gordon on Monday, saying he has "every belief that [Gordon] will make the right choices."

Last February, Gordon was suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's drug policy multiple times and missed the entire 2015 season. In 2013, he led the league with a franchise-record 1,646 receiving yards in only 14 games.

Gordon played two years at Baylor University then transferred to Utah after being suspended indefinitely. He missed the entire 2011 season due to NCAA transfer rules. In 2012 he was selected in the second round of the 2012 supplemental draft.
