University of Michigan head men's basketball coach John Beilein (pictured) announced via his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon that he will remain in Ann Arbor as the school's head coach, according to media reports.

Multiple media outlets had reported last week that the Detroit Pistons were interested in Beilein to be their new head coach, replacing the fired Stan Van Gundy.  And according to outlets, Beilein interviewed with the team earlier this week.

Former Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey and San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ime Udoka have emerged as the leading candidates to fill the vacant position.
