Jeff Gordon To Replace Dale Earnhardt, Jr. In #88 Car
Hendrick Motorsports announced on Wednesday that recently retired driver Jeff Gordon (pictured) will replace the still-injured Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in the #88 car for the next two races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit.
Gordon will race the #88 this coming Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and then the following weekend at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania.
Earnhardt suffered concussion-like symptoms after crashing during the 4th of July race at Daytona International Speedway.
Gordon retired after the 2015 season, he has been a FOX TV analyst this year.
