As the Detroit News reported early Wednesday morning, and Ilitch Holdings has confirmed in a press release, the Ilitch family is looking into forming a new network that would broadcast Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers games, which the Ilitch's own, in the future.

Fox Sports Detroit (FSD) has broadcasted the Red Wings and Tigers since FSD's inception in 1997.  And before that Pro Am Sports Systems (PASS) broadcasted the Tigers, Red Wings, and Detroit Pistons games going back to the 1980's.

The Red Wings, Tigers, and Pistons are under contract with FSD into the next decade, according to the News.
