Just weeks after the Detroit Red Wings fell in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the third straight season, the team has announced some coaching changes involving some of their assistants.

Head coach Jeff Blashill will remain as head coach for his second season this coming fall.  But he'll be without assistant Tony Granato, who is taking over at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin for next season.  The team has also announced that longtime goaltender coach Jim Bedard will not be retained.

Another assistant coach, Pat Ferschwiler's role with the team is changing, but he'll remain within the organization.
