One day after Michigan State football lost highly touted quarterback verbal commitment Dwon Mathis to Ohio State, the Spartans picked up their first 5-star recruit for the class of 2019.

The Spartans have landed 5-star offensive lineman Devontae Dobbs, who will be a senior this fall at Belleville HS.  Dobbs made the announcement via his Twitter account on Monday.

Dobbs is the 11th verbal commitment for the class of 2019 for head coach Mark Dantonio.  Dobbs can sign with Michigan State during the early signing period in December.

This announcement comes one day after the Spartans lost verbal commit and Oak Park HS QB Dwon Mathis, who changed his mind and has committed to Ohio State.
