A Wednesday afternoon press conference has been called in Detroit, where it is expected that plans for a new Major League Soccer in the Motor City will be made public.

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert have working together over the past few months to bring a new MLS team to Detroit.

The MLS has been around since 1993 and has 20 teams in the league currently.  There are several amateur teams in the state of Michigan in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids.
