Maybe not as impressive as Daniel Norris' debut on Sunday, but elsewhere in the baseball world another piece in the Tigers' wheeling and trade deadline dealings shined.

At AA Erie newly acquired shortstop JaCoby Jones had a heck of a day offensively.

Not once.

Not twice... we couldn't find a video on it (sorry).
But three homeruns on Sunday night against the New Britain RockCats (Colorado AA affiliate)

The SeaWolves won the game 7-1, Jones accounted for five of the RBIs.

Jones was acquired in a one-for-one swap with Pittsburgh for Joakim Soria near the trade deadline. Jones was the 12th highest prospect in the Pirates system. For the Tigers, he slots 13th.

In three games so far for Erie, he is hitting a split of .333/.357/1.083 with the aforementioned three home runs and six RBIs.

It's interesting to note that despite Dixon Machado playing in AAA, Jones is considered a better prospect than either Machado or veteran Alexi Casilla.

Spring training will be interesting next year with all these new prospects performing well.
