Multiple media outlets are reporting the Tigers have traded second baseman Ian Kinsler to the Los Angeles Angels.

Kinsler, 35, was rumored to be on the trading block during last season's trade deadline but the Tigers could not find a deal that suited their demands. At the MLB winter meetings they found that out of the Angels.

As of this writing the deal is not finalized, the clubs have not confirmed the news at this time.

Montgomery played in AA for 20 games last season and hit .235 while he was there. According to MLB Pipeline he is the #20 prospect in the Angels system.

Hernandez is a teenage pitching prospect currently in rookie ball. He appeared in 12 games last season starting seven of them with a 4-1 record and a 2.61 ERA across 44.1 innings. He is the #24 prospect in the Angels system according to MLB Pipeline.

Kinsler is under contract for $11 million in 2018. In 2017 he hit .236 with 22 home runs and 52 RBIs. Kinsler also stole 14 bases while batting leadoff for most of the year with Detroit.

The Angels are clearly looking to make a run in the American League with the addition of Kinsler and Japanese prospect Shohei Ohtani from earlier in the Winter Meetings.
