Michigan State football has a chance for 10 wins this season and to get it they will have to go through the #18 Washington State Cougars in the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl.

The game will be played on December 28 at 9:00 P.M.

The #16 Spartans (9-3) are looking for their sixth season of 10+ wins in the last eight years. For MSU head coach Mark Dantonio he will be looking to notch his 100th win as head coach of the Spartans in his 11th season.

"We're excited about the opportunity to represent the Big Ten in the Holiday Bowl against a great Pac-12 opponent in Washington State" Dantonio said in a press release. "Facing Washington State will be a tremendous challenge. The consistently have one of the top passing offenses in the nation, but they also have one of the top defenses in the nation as well. It will certainly be a difficult task for us"

Washington State currently has the second best passing offense in FBS (374.8 pass yards per game) and a defense ranked in the top 15 nationally.

This will be the eighth meeting between WSU and MSU with the Spartans leading the all-time series 5-2. Their last meeting was in 1977 and this will be the first time these programs meet in a bowl game.

Michigan State will be making its first ever appearance in the Holiday Bowl. The Big Ten has won the past two Holiday Bowls (Wisconsin over USC in 2015 and Minnesota over WSU in 2016).
