Former Michigan State football player and current Washington Redskins defensive back Montae Nicholson (pictured) was arrested on Tuesday morning on an assault and battery charge and for being drunk in public, the Detroit News is reporting.

Nicholson, who played at Michigan State from 2014-16, is in his second season with the Redskins.  He was picked in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played in all 14 games for Washington this season.

Nicholson was released on $2,500 bond.  There is no word yet on any future court dates.
