Former Lions GM Heading to the Bay Area

According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Martin Mayhew has been hired by the 49ers to be the Senior Personnel Executive.

Mayhew spent last season with the New York Giants as Director of Football operations.

He is most notably known as the general manager for the Detroit Lions after Matt Millen was fired. His first move was trading wide receiver Roy Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, you can be the judge of his draft moves.

But one thing all Detroit fans know is 0-16, which is what happened the last time Mayhew worked under a former player-turned-general manager. Good luck, San Francisco.
