Here are today's Five Things...

1. The Detroit Tigers traded starting pitcher Rick Porcello to the Boston Red Sox for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and two minor leaguers.

2. The Tigers also traded for starting pitcher Alfredo Simon, the team sent shortstop Eugenio Suarez and minor league pitcher Jonathon Crawford to the Cincinnati Reds.

3. The Arizona Cardinals defeated the St. Louis Rams 12-6 last night.  The 11-3 Cardinals lost former MSU quarterback Drew Stanton to an apparent knee injury.  Stanton will have an MRI today to determine the severity of the injury.

4. Oregon QB Marcus Mariota won the Maxwell Award for the nation's most outstanding college football player.  He is considered the favorite for the Heisman Trophy, which will be announced on Saturday night in New York.

5.  Multiple media outlets are reporting that Wisconsin is set to hire Pittsburgh head coach Paul Chryst as their new head coach.  He would replace Gary Andersen, who left for Oregon State earlier this week.
