1.  Detroit Tigers pitcher David Price was stellar in his first start after being traded from Tampa Bay.  Price pitched 8 2/3 innings, striking out 10.  Alex Avila hit a solo home run in the 12th inning to give the Tigers a 4-3 win over the New York Yankees last night.

2.  BioGenesis founder Tony Bosch surrendered to Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) authorities yesterday in Florida.  He faces up to 10 years in prison after agreeing to a plea deal where he pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute anabolic steroids to MLB players.

3.  The San Antonio Spurs have hired WNBA great Becky Hammon as a full-time assistant coach.  Hammon is the first woman ever to become an assistant for an NBA team.  She is retiring from the WNBA after this season.

4.  Sources say that MLB owners will vote next week on a new commissioner to replace Bud Selig.  Selig is retiring next January after 20+ years as commissioner.

5.  The College of Charleston has fired head coach Doug Wojcik, a former Michigan State assistant, as their head basketball coach.  This after allegations of verbal abuse against players by coaches and athletic department personnel.
