If you are sick of hearing fireworks ALL THE TIME, you are going to love this. Fireworks laws are changing in 2019. The changes were just signed into law. The law was authored by State Rep. Jim Lilly.

It creates more red tape for the sale and use of consumer grade fireworks, including a raise in fines for violators. This will give more authority to local government.

Local authorities will be able to restrict the use of consumer grade fireworks EXCEPT the times listed below.

  • New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day at 1 a.m.
  • Memorial Day Weekend, specifically Saturday & Sunday until 11:45 p.m. each day
  • Fridays and Saturdays between June 29th and July 4th, until 11:45 p.m.
  • Labor Day Weekend, specifically Saturday & Sunday, until 11:45 p.m.

I used to love fireworks but when you see them all the time, they lose their luster. Plus, they are very hard on our Veterans and pets. When your neighbor is lighting them off at 3am... Maybe it's time for some laws.
