Former Michigan State basketball star Keith Appling has been arrested again.

Appling, 24, was taken into custody around 9 p.m. Sunday in Detroit, WDIV TV 4 reports. Police attempted to pull Appling over for a traffic stop, but he allegedly fled and threw a gun out of his vehicle.

Appling reportedly will face felony charges from the incident. It's his third arrest since May 1.

In July, he was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon during a traffic stop.

Appling was arrested on May 1 at a Dearborn strip club and charged with two weapons offense and a misdemeanor drug charge. Police found a handgun and another loaded gun in Appling’s trunk, as well as a small amount of marijuana.

Appling played with the Orlando Magic for a brief spell in the NBA this past season. He also played in the D-League with the Magic’s affiliate, the Erie BayHawks this season.

Appling played at MSU from 2010-2014 averaging over 10 points per game in over 140 games played.
