Everett avenged their only CAAC Blue loss of the season Friday night.  As the 10th ranked Vikings defeated 8th ranked Grand Ledge 82-78 in overtime at Grand Ledge High School.

The Vikings won despite Mr. Basketball candidate Trevor Manuel fouling out with three minutes left in regulation.  Manuel ended up with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.

But the real heroes were Junior amyrin Jackson and the Everett bench.  Jackson led the way with 29 points and 7 rebounds, while the Viking bench outscored the Comet bench 24-6.  And some clutch free throws in the final minute of the extra period clinched the road win.

The losing Comets were led by senior Cassell Jones, who had 29 points on 10-17 field goal shooting.  Junior Malek Adams added 20 points and 5 assists and senior J.T. Houghton scored all 17 of his points in the second half and overtime.

Everett is now 11-1 in the CAAC Blue, 15-2 overall.  Grand Ledge falls to 11-1 in the Blue, 16-1 overall.

Both Everett and Grand Ledge are in action next Tuesday.  The Vikings will host Sexton, while the Comets host East Lansing.
