Ebron was carted off the field on Saturday and was not able to put any pressure on his right leg during Lions practice according to multiple media reports

Entering his third-year in the NFL, Eric Ebron has had two less-than-stellar seasons with the Detroit Lions since being drafted in 2014. 2016 was supposed to be his breakout year but that may be halted as it is feared that he may have suffered a severe achilles injury on Saturday according to Ian Rapport.

The former top-10 pick has registered 72 catches, 785 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons in Detroit. Last season, he set career highs in every receiving category including five touchdowns.

This is yet another loss to Detroit's receiving core as Calvin Johnson retired, fellow tight end Brandon Pettigrew is recovering from a torn ACL last year.  Earlier this summer, third-string tight end Tim Wright suffered a season ending injury in OTAs.
