It was a tough loss for the MSU Spartans, losing to the Oregon Ducks, 39-27.The Ducks get on the board in the 1st quarter after Thomas Tyner rushed for a touchdown followed by a successful 2 point conversion, converted by Deforest Buckner. In the 2nd, Matt Wogan kicked a field goal to give the Ducks an 11-0 lead. The Spartans got on the board after a rush from Jeremy Langford scored a touchdown for MSU. The Ducks would respond in kind after a 70 yard pass from Marcus Mariota to Devon Allen for a touchdown. MSU got a successful field goal to bring them within 8. But they wern't done yet. Connor Cook passed for 2 successful touchdowns the first was with 2 minutes in the half, passing 7 yards to Tony Lippett. The second touchdown happened with 18 seconds left in the first, passing 7 yards to Josiah Price to take a 24-18 lead. Spartans added onto their lead early in the 3rd with a Michael Geiger field goal. Mariota made a 23 yard pass to Allen for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter, and after the extra point, MSU had a 2 point lead. The Ducks took the lead late in the 3rd with Mariota throwing a 37 yard pass to Keanon Lowe. At the top of the 4th quarter, Royce Freeman rushed 38 yards for a touchdown, giving Oregon a 12 point lead. One last touchdown was scored after a 14 yard rush from Freeman.  Connor Cook led the game in passing, throwing for 343 yards, Tony Lippett led in receiving for 134 yards. Royce Freeman rushed for 89 yards. The Spartans come home to take on The Eastern Michigan Eagles on Saturday, September 20th.
