Right handed pitcher Alex Faedo out of the University of Florida was selected 18th overall in the 2017 MLB Draft by the Tigers and has come to terms on his rookie contract.

Faedo won the College World Series with Florida and was named the CWS Most Outstanding Player, with a 2-0 record, one save, 44 strikeouts and a 0.33 ERA in 27.1 innings of work.

Faedo's junior season numbers with Florida totaled a 9-2 record, 2.26 ERA and a NCAA best 157 strikeouts in 123.2 innings.
