The Detroit Tigers bolstered their already-strong starting pitching rotation on Thursday when they reportedly acquired left-handed ace David Price from the Tampa Bay Rays at the trade deadline.

FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reported the trade about 3:50 p.m. It reportedly was a three-team trade, with Seattle also involved.

The deal would be a strong response by the Tigers after AL foe Oakland landed Jon Lester in a blockbuster trade earlier Thursday.

The 28-year-old Price is 11-8 with a 3.11 ERA, 1.049 WHIP and 10 strikeouts per nine innings this season. He is 82-47 with a 3.18 ERA over his seven-year career, all with Tampa.

Price won the AL Cy Young award in 2012.
