According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, the Detroit Lions have traded LB Kyle Van Noy to the new England Patriots.

The Lions will receive a 6th round pick in next year's draft.

Van Noy finally cracked the starting line up this season as the Lions lacked depth at linebacker and Deandre Levy's injury hasn't made things easier but is expected to return to the lineup soon.

The former BYU stand out appeared in 30 games for Detroit since being drafted in 2014 out of BYU. He registered 32 tackles and one sack during his stint in Detroit.

Lions defensive back Darius Slay reacts to the trade.
