According to the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Lions sign free agent defensive end Quanterus Smith.

Smith spent the 2015 season with the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.

Smith was drafted 146th overall in the 2013 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos out of Western Kentucky. The former Hilltopper registered 11 career tackles in a Broncos uniform.

During his senior year at WKU, was named Sun Belt defensive player of the ear with 12.5 sacks. Smith tore his ACL late in his senior campaign.
