Two-time Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. will join the NBC NASCAR broadcast team for the 2018 season, according to a news release.

Earnhardt is retiring from competition after this current season.  He missed significant time in the 2016 season due to a concussion suffered during a race last summer.

Dale joined NASCAR's top series (now the Monster Energy Cup Series) in 2000 after winning a pair of Xfinity Series titles in 1998 and 1999.
