Jared Goff and Carson Wentz went one and two overall, as expected by most. Some mock drafts had Cook going to the Denver Broncos at #31 overall, they needed a quarterback after the departure of Brock Osweiler and the retirement of Peyton Manning.

So when the Broncos made a trade with Seattle to move up in the draft to #26, the writing seemed to be on the wall that they would take a quarterback.

They did, but it was Paxton Lynch out of Memphis, not Michigan State's Connor Cook.

31 picks gone by the way side and Connor Cook remains on the board and is considered Mel Kiper's "Best QB available" heading into round 2.

According to NFL.com, the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and the Washington Redskins all have unaddressed quarterback needs. Click on the team names to see each team's draft status for 2016.

Among those teams with a QB need the next pick each team has:
CHI: Pick #41
CLE: Pick #32
DAL: Pick #34
KC: Pick #37
SF: Pick #68
WSH: Pick #53

Rounds 2 and 3 are on Friday, with rounds 4-7 finishing the draft on Saturday.
