Photo taken by Brock Polmbos[/caption]The Okemos Chiefs defeated the Lansing Catholic Cougars tonight in the first game of the season in a CAAC Blue/White crossover game, 62-59. Okemos was able to hold a commanding lead in the first half, having a 22 point lead going into halftime. Going into the 4th quarter, Lansing Catholic was down by 16 but they fought back late in the 4th, needing 3 points with 13 seconds left on the clock in the 4th, but successful free throws from Connor George were able to hold back the Cougars tonight. Okemos shot 15 of 36 from the field with 5-15 from the three point line, and 28 for 42 from the free throw line. Lansing Catholic shot 17 for 46 in field goals, 7 for 22 from the 3 point line, and 16 for 26 in free throws.
