Matthew Stafford found Theo Riddick for an 11 yard touchdown with 29 seconds left to give the Detroit Lions their fourth straight win with a 20-16 come from behind victory over the Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon at Ford Field. Detroit (7-2) had taken a 10-0 lead in the first quarter on the first of two Matt Prater field goals and a 49 yard touchdown strike from Stafford to Calvin Johnson who made his return to the football field after missing five games. Miami (5-4) had closed the gap to 10-6 thanks to two Caleb Sturgis field goals then in the third quarter, after Earl Mitchell blocked a Prater field goal attempt, Miami returned it to the Detroit three yard line then Ryan Tannehill found Mike Wallace to give the Dolphins a 13-10 lead. Prater and Sturgis then traded field goals to set the stage for Stafford's heroics. Stafford finished 25 for 40 for 280 yards and two touchdowns, Joique Bell led the Lions in rushing with 10 carries for 44 yards and both Johnson and Golden Tate had over 100 yards receiving, Johnson with seven catches for 113 yards and Tate had 11 catches for 109 yards. Detroit will next travel to the Valley of the Sun to face the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.Kickoff is at 4:25pm on Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM.
