Can The Detroit Tigers Play Better In The Second Half Of The Season??
The Detroit Tigers are almost at the half way point in the season. their record is a few games over the five hundred mark. This team has under achieved and been riddled with injuries. They also have lost eleven out of twelve games from the league leading Cleveland Indians. But, after the All Star game the Tigers play more games at home.
This team as we speak has to get better pitching and keep guys healthy. If this doesn't happen they will end up having a rotten season. Their manager is Brad Ausmus and he has been feeling the heat all season long. The heat of possibly losing his job. This franchise spent over $200 million dollars on free agents in the off season. Justin Upton was the big winner with his huge contract he received. Upton so far has not paid dividends for the Tigers only hitting around a .225 average. Most Tiger fans and media members feel Detroit will have to play out of their minds to win their division.
This what might happen. Guys will get healthy, all pitching will be better, Upton will get more consistent at the plate. The Tigers could get a bit player in a trade to help this team in the second half of the season. So far this season the Tigers have been the heart break kids. But, this is a better team then their record shows.
