Mr. Basketball finalist Brandon Johns scored 33 points to lead the East Lansing Trojans to their third straight district championship with a 56-45 triumph over Waverly on Friday night.

Johns added 11 rebounds, five steals and four blocked shot to his stat line.  He was the only Trojan in double figures, Jack Morse added nine points while Justin McAbee added six points and seven rebounds.

Waverly (12-11) was led in scoring by Javon Anderson, who scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half.  Anderson was the only Warrior that was in double figures, Tevin Ali added nine points, seven rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

The Trojans got it done at the free throw line, going 13-14 from the stripe, Waverly was 5-8 from the line.

East Lansing (20-3) advances to Monday's regional semifinal game against Kalamazoo Central.  The Maroon Giants eliminated the Trojans in the regional finals last season.
