The Miami Dolphins of 1972 played 17 games and won them all. Twenty years later, there still has been no NFL team to duplicate that feat.

They were a perfect 17-0, still to this day the Miami Dolphins of 1972 remain king of the hill. Football arguments across the land, far and wide dispute this. The 1972 Dolphin team are somewhat the "Rodney Dangerfield" of NFL history "no respect". In 1972, the Dolphins beat the Washington Redskins 14-7 in the Super Bowl and were still a two-point underdog.

This Miami Dolphin team was made up of future Hall of Famers. Of course they were led by one of the greatest coaches in the history of the NFL and his name is Don Shula. The offense was directed by quarterback Bob Griese, fullback Larry Csonka, and wide receiver Paul Warfield all in the Hall. Their defense was led by another great immortal player linebacker, Nick Buoniconti.

This team was aggressive, smart, athletic, and full of winners. Football fans can argue the Packers, Steelers, Patriots, or any other team they want but the 1972 Miami dolphins are still the only team ever unbeaten.
