Hitler and Valentine's Day aren't two things that generally go together, but an incident in Mount Pleasant is able to connect those dots.

Some Central Michigan University students found out how the two ends would be connected this week when a student passed them, among other things, an Anti-Semitic Valentine's Day card featuring Adolf Hitler and a Holocaust pun.

The student publication Central Michigan Life reports that the note was passed out as part of a gift basket from a College Republicans group party on campus. The CMU College Republicans addressed the issue shortly thereafter.

The President of CMU's College Republicans stated to Central Michigan Life that the bags were supposed to be for members only but one lone member had given away his bag because he "doesn't like candy". They asserted that the member had no idea the offensive Valentine was in their bag.

Activists on campus plan to protest hate speech on campus on Thursday. The protest does not explicitly state this incident, rather hate speech in general.
