Lansing, MI - Both the Michigan State Senate and House of Representatives honored former Tigers shortstop Alan Trammell today.

The Modern Baseball Era Committee voted Trammell, who retired in 1997, to the 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame class in the fall ballot.

Trammell spent his entire 20 year career playing in Detroit, where he was instrumental in the team's 1984 World Series victory.

In addition to the World Series ring, Trammell was 1984 World Series MVP, a six time All-Star and a four time Golden Glove winner.

Trammell's stop in Lansing came as part of the Tiger organization's two day Winter Caravan tour.

Trammell joins other Tigers executives, Tigers coaches and players, including Nick Castellanos, on the North Bus as the team tours throughout the region.

Tomorrow's North Bus stops include Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville and Snowfest in Frankenmuth.
