After she declared for the WNBA draft, Aerial Powers looked to be one of the top prospects coming into the WNBA in 2016. She ended up being selected 5th by the Dallas Wings.

Powers joins a roster that boasts Plenette Pierson a 12 year veteran of the WNBA and two time WNBA all star Skylar Diggins.

The Wings are the franchise that started out as the Detroit Shock before moving to Tulsa in 2010. 2016 will mark the first year the franchise will be headquartered in Dallas.

Powers went right after fellow Big Ten competitor Rachel Banham from Minnesota. She was drafted fourth by the Connecticut Sun.

The University of Connecticut supplied the first three picks of the 2016 WNBA draft (Breanna Stewart, Moriah Jefferson, and Morgan Tuck).
