1.  It was a bad night for Lansing area boys basketball teams.  We broadcasted a double-header at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix high school.  First, Lansing Eastern fell to Ann Arbor Skyline 68-57.  Tristan Wilson had 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks for Skyline.  Dre Dentmond had a nice game for Eastern, scoring 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

In the 2nd game, Holt had a 34-11 lead over Kalamazoo Central with three minutes to go in the first half.  However, Central went on a massive run in the second half, and ended up winning the game 62-59.  Devon Daniels had 25 points for the Giants.

2. The Big Ten awards were announced yesterday.  Nik Stauskas won Big Ten player of the year. John Beliein was voted as the coach of the year by the media, while Tim Miles was voted as coach of the year by the coaches.  Gary Harris was named to the first team by both the media and the coaches, and Adreian Payne made the second team.

3. MSU's men basketball team had their team banquet last night. They announced their team awards, listed here by freep.com.  Gary Harris was given the MVP award.

4. The Red Wings have a massive game tonight.  They play Columbus, who is tied with them for the final playoff spot.  The Wings got some bad news yesterday, as center Joakim Andersson will miss 2-3 weeks with a broken foot.  Detroit is now missing Pavel Datsyuk, Stephen Weiss, Darren Helm, Joakim Andersson, and Henrik Zetterberg, or five guys that play heavy minutes as center for them.

5.  The girls basketball quarterfinals are tonight, and three local teams are in action.  Eaton Rapids plays Arbor Preparatory, Grand Ledge faces Grand Rapids Christian, and Lansing Christian continues their Cinderella story against Athens.
