1.  Another weekend, another loss for the Michigan State basketball team.  They have lost six straight games on the weekend, and Saturday's home loss to Illinois may have been the one to end their Big Ten championship hopes.

MSU looked punchless in Saturday's home loss to Illinois.  Gary Harris was very effective on both ends of the floor, but the rest of the team provided very little offense.  Keith Appling's inability to shoot continues to hurt the team.  Adreian Payne was clearly the focus of the Illini defense, and only scored four points.  Denzel Valentine had a rough game, turning the ball over five times.  Branden Dawson and Gavin Schilling looked energetic, but did not do much offensively.

If Michigan wins one of their final two games (at Illinois, vs. Indiana), they will be outright Big 10 champions.

2. The MSU women on the other hand, have been playing great lately.  They clinched a share of the Big Ten title with a 76-56 win over Indiana.  Aerial Powers scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the ladies have won five straight.  They will be the two seed in the Big Ten Tournament, and play the winner of Indiana and Michigan.

3. The boys high school basketball tournament tips off tonight.  There are plenty of great games scheduled in the area.  We'll be broadcasting the Waverly and Eastern game, and will hit the air around 6:45.  Other games include East Lansing playing Okemos, Haslett and DeWitt, and Holt will travel to Battle Creek Central.

4. The Michigan men's team looked sharp again on Saturday, clinching a share of the Big Ten title with a win over Minnesota.  Nik Stauskas paced the Wolverines with 28 points and Caris Levert scored 13.  As I previously mentioned, Michigan will win the Big Ten title outright if they win one of their next two games.
