The first editions of the high school basketball rankings were released on Tuesday and the Mid-Michigan area saw a lot of representation in the first edition.

On the Boys' side, Class A sees Mid-Michigan powerhouse East Lansing (8-0) sitting in third. The Trojans also garnered one first-place vote. They sit behind fellow undefeated teams Clarkston (9-0) in first and Grand Rapids Christian (6-0) in second. The Trojans have had only two single digit wins to this point showing off their dominance as they head into the teeth of their conference schedule.

In Class B, Williamston finds themselves ranked seventh with an 8-1 record. The Hornets lone loss on the year came at the Williamston Invitational to DeWitt over the holiday break. On top of a quality win over Rockford they are also dominating the CAAC-White, going 3-0 so far with an average margin of victory over 24 points.

In Class C, the Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates have rolled to a perfect 6-0 recrod thus far and are rewarded with a fourth place ranking. Aside from Flint Beecher (2nd) and Beaverton (T-9th) every team in this top 10 is undefeated. The Pirates have been unstoppable this season, their lowest margin of victory is 18 points and their scoring averages see them around +24.

Class D sees two Lansing-area teams, and they didn't just squeak into the polls either. The CMAC's Fowler (6-1) comes in at third and the GLAC's Lansing Christian (7-1) sits in first place a top a very tight poll. So tight in fact second place Powers North Central (7-0) actually has more first place votes than the Pilgrims who hold the top spot by just two voting points.

Fowler's lone loss against Bath is sandwiched between a pair of three game winning streaks including a 4-1 mark in conference play.

Lansing Christian sits atop the GLAC standings with a 5-0 record, with their lone loss coming to Lansing Sexton 85-75. The Pilgrims have shown they can hang with some of the best not only in Class D but in classes above them this season, which has netted them the number one spot.
